Cardiovascular Technologist

Receives patients at clinic reception area. Performs general clerical duties. Under general supervision, performs chemical analysis on blood samples and blood gases of cardiac catheterization patients.

• Monitors EKG and pressure recordings of patients during procedures.
• Maintains appropriate logs related to procedures.
• Performs related duties.
• Under direct supervision of the physician and RN, prepares patients, assembles, and operates hemodynamic and electrophysiology equipment during interventional and diagnostic procedures.
• Continuously monitors vital signs, EKG, and pressure recordings.
• Analyses inter-cardiac electrogram and reports results.
• Performs direct and indirect patient care.
• Maintains appropriate documentation.
• Performs other duties as related to the daily operation of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.

• RCIS (registered cardiovascular invasive specialist) and/or RCS (registered cardiac electrophysiology specialist) and/or IBHRE (international board of heart rhythm examiners) certification preferred at hire or within 2 years of employment.
• Licensed Clinical laboratory technologist preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• High School Diploma required.
