Over the past three years, the Global Macro business has expanded significantly, and as a result, we are expanding the Macro Technology team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an exceptional team, in a major growth phase. We are looking for problem solvers who are passionate about the Macro investment business and delivering best in class technology.
What you’ll do
As the UI technical lead in Macro Front Office Technology at Point
72, you will be responsible for leading a team to build out best-in-class features, components, and end-user applications essential to the consumption, manipulation, and visualization of a range of analytics developed by the Macro Technology group. The primary users of the application will be portfolio managers, Macro Management, Risk Management and Valuations.
The focus will be primarily on, but not limited to, the buildout of an integrated UI workspace suitable to meet an ever-expanding set of Macro portfolio manager requirements, in particular the delivery of real-time analytics for P&L and risk, as well as other kinds of complex pre-trade analysis.
Specifically, you will:
- Oversee collaboration with our Product, Design, and Backend Engineering teams to ensure logical and consistent interactions between services, APIs, and the UI
- Execute on an ambitious new feature roadmap in compliance with the target UI architecture
- Drive prioritization for small UI features, at a high delivery cadence with quick turn-around times
- Drive consistency of design from the pure UX perspective
- Drive efficiency in user experience for the team’s stakeholders
- Set the highest standards for architecture and code quality through a robust development process
- Train engineers on essential technologies to reduce skill and knowledge gaps
We are looking for a highly skilled software engineer with strong coding abilities, rigorous mathematical problem-solving skills, and experience in P&L and risk systems or in another Front Office development capacity. Specifically, you should have:
- A bachelor’s degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, engineering, finance, or a related field
- Proven leadership experience as a UI Technical Lead or similar role, with a strong track record of UI team building and the delivery of large and complex feature roadmaps, in a React-based context
- A strong attention to detail, and a passion for creating frictionless and aesthetically satisfying user interfaces
- Exceptional technical foundations in the following programming languages:
JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Type Script - Deep understanding of real-time data processing and its integration into third party visualization libraries
- Deep understanding of the proper use of state management libraries such as Redux, MobX, RxJS
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
