Position: Software Engineer (Capture Cloud)

About the role:

We’re looking for a backend‑leaning software engineer to join the Capture Cloud Team
, specifically working with Bid Match (our opportunity search and recommendation engine). You’ll work closely with engineering and product teammates to expand our data sources, improve recommendation logic, and ensure our government data corpus is clean, normalized, and ready for analysis.

In this role, you'll:
  • Build and maintain backend services that power Bid Match, with a focus on scalability and reliability.
  • Scrape, ingest, and integrate new government data sources into our platform.
  • Refine and tune our recommendation engine to maximize accuracy and relevance.
  • Develop tools to normalize, sanitize, and manage large volumes of government data.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define and deliver data‑driven features.
What we're looking for:
  • Strong backend development skills in Type Script/Node.js
    .
  • Experience with web scraping and data integration
    .
  • Comfort working with large, messy, real-world datasets.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment.
  • Interest in recommendation systems or data science (bonus points).
  • Knowledge of government contracting data or other public‑sector data sources (bonus points).
