Join to apply for the Senior Software Engineer, Data & Systems role at Tri Edge Investments
.
At Tri Edge Investments, we build world‑class technology to drive value creation across a portfolio of 30+ companies. Our approach is staged: we start with bespoke solutions that unlock operator performance and move EBITDA; we then scale those wins through platform tools deployable across the portfolio; ultimately, we’re building an intelligent platform that redefines how private equity enables value creation at scale.
As a Senior Software Engineer, Data & Systems you’ll play a critical role in this mission – owning the design, development, and operation of the data and backend systems that power our products. You’ll architect scalable APIs, data pipelines, and distributed services that are performant in production. You’ll also design robust data models, build integrations, and ensure our systems are secure, resilient, and ready for scale.
This is not a dev shop. You’ll act like an owner, work directly with operators and engineers, understand the “why,” and deliver pragmatic, high‑quality systems that drive impact.
What You’ll Do- Become the expert on your team’s business and technical domains.
- Build production backend services & APIs that integrate with internal stores and third‑party vendors.
- Ingest, model, and refresh data from multiple sources; implement resilient pipelines with strong error handling, retry, and alerting.
- Design domain data models and contribute to a multi‑tenant warehouse strategy with role‑based access controls.
- Integrate with external vendors (e.g., payroll, HR, ops systems), preferring modern APIs over brittle file‑based interfaces.
- Ensure security & compliance for PHI/PII (HIPAA‑aware designs, least‑privilege access, auditability).
- Plan for reuse: build patterns and components we can apply repeatedly on future projects.
- Implement step‑wise migrations of legacy systems into modern, scalable architectures.
- Ensure observability, reliability, and security across backend and data services.
- Lead the planning, execution, and release of complex technical projects, collaborating with product managers, operators, and designers.
- Own features and infrastructure projects from design through delivery, ensuring adoption and measurable impact.
- 7+ years building production backend systems and APIs.
- Fluency in one or more of:
Python, Type Script/Node, Go, or Java; strong API design and integration skills. - Solid SQL and data‑modeling skills; experience with a modern warehouse (Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift, SQL Server) and ETL/ELT patterns.
- Proven ability to own ambiguous problems, choose pragmatic tech, and ship reliable services under real‑world constraints.
- Security‑ minded: experience with auth/auth
Z, secrets management, audit trails; HIPAA or regulated data experience is a plus. - Comfortable working across varied stacks/environments (cloud services, occasional Windows/.NET, or legacy systems).
- Demonstrated ability to write stable, maintainable, and modular code with little oversight.
- Clear communicator, proactive collaborator, and natural problem‑solver.
- Hone your skills at spotting and solving problems for real companies, and quickly see if your work drives value.
- Be part of a team that values speed and iteration: more reps, faster feedback, sharper execution.
- Help digitize and transform real businesses, not just build another SaaS tool.
- Work with autonomy, shoulder‑to‑shoulder with operators and decision‑makers to drive meaningful results without bureaucracy.
- Build alongside a culture that prizes clarity, reuse, humility, and ownership.
- Competitive compensation & benefits in a high‑impact, high‑growth environment.
