• Hands-on Java coding for test automation (Core Java).
• Hands-on API/backend automation using Java and Rest Assured.
• Strong understanding of REST API testing fundamentals (status codes, payload validation,
negative/edge tests).
• Test ownership across Functional, Regression, Integration, and End-to-End testing.
• Ability to analyze automation results, debug failures, and work with teams to drive resolution.
• Working familiarity with Git and CI pipelines (Jenkins and/or Git Hub Actions).
• Comfortable with IDEs, debugging, source control, and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
• Experience working in Agile teams and understanding of SDLC.
• Familiarity testing in cloud environments; AWS exposure preferred.
Roles & Responsibilities
• Design, implement, and execute automated API/backend tests using Java and Rest Assured.
• Define and execute test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end
scenarios.
• Create/maintain test plans, test cases, and documentation; keep them current with product
changes.
• Run automation in CI, interpret failures, perform triage, and collaborate with developers to fix
issues.
• Maintain and improve automation suites, test data, and utilities to increase reliability and signal.
• Participate in requirement and design discussions to ensure testability and quality early in the lifecycle.
• Ensure best practices in automation (readability, maintainability, deterministic tests, code hygiene).
• For senior leveling (SDET III): design/enhance automation frameworks, solve complex automation challenges independently, set/enforce script quality standards through reviews, and influence overall test strategy for features/services.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management; ability to explain issues clearly with
evidence.
• Collaboration across QA, Dev, Product, and Dev Ops; drives closure and accountability.
• Mentoring/peer reviews (expected at senior level) and proactive risk identification.
• Bias for action, ownership mindset, and continuous learning.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $125,000 a year
