Field Engineer

A client of ours is looking for Field Engineers to support the deployment and implementation of emergency call handling technology for public safety agencies throughout the United States. This role will configure, test, troubleshoot, and support complex on-premises and cloud-hosted systems at customer locations.

This is a on-site (different locations), contract opportunity requiring approximately 75% travel. Candidates may live anywhere in the United States, although candidates based in the Westen U.S. are especially encouraged to apply. Las Vegas-based candidates are also encouraged to apply due to ease of travel from Las Vegas Airport. Travel is generally Monday through Friday, with occasional Sunday travel. Assignments are typically a few days at each customer site rather than several consecutive weeks.

• Deploy and implement emergency call handling systems at public safety customer locations
• Configure supported on-premises, hybrid-cloud, SaaS, and cloud-hosted solutions
• Perform site verification and system testing before transitioning systems into production
• Configure and troubleshoot connectivity between customer infrastructure and cloud-hosted environments
• Support customers and channel partners throughout system deployment and production cutover
• Provide post-cutover support and resolve installation or quality issues
• Document system changes, cloud configurations, integrations, and implementation activities
• Support system upgrades, cloud migrations, and related implementation procedures
• Troubleshoot Windows-based servers, virtualized environments, networks, hardware, and connected systems
• Communicate clearly with customers, project teams, and technical stakeholders
• Organize assignments, documentation, travel, and follow-up activities while working independently

• 2-3+ years of IT, field engineering, systems implementation, deployment, integration, or technical support experience
• Experience deploying public safety, 911, emergency communications, or mission-critical systems
• Experience implementing or supporting complex technology solutions in customer environments
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and basic troubleshooting of switches, routers, and firewalls
• Experience with Windows Server and workstation operating systems
• Experience with virtualization platforms such as VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM
• Exposure to cloud platforms or cloud-hosted applications
• Experience troubleshooting connectivity and multi-system integrations
• Familiarity with SIP, VoIP, telephony, or call‑processing technology is helpful
• Strong troubleshooting, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills
• Strong customer‑facing communication and organizational skills
• Ability to learn new technologies and complete product‑specific training
• Ability to work independently while remaining receptive to coaching and technical direction
• Willingness and ability to travel approximately 75%

• Experience with Motorola VESTA or other emergency call handling platforms
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or Linux
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or private‑cloud environments
• Experience with Active Directory, SSO, APIs, or identity management
• Experience with Cisco IOS or Fortinet Forti Gate
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field
