Rhythm is hiring a Senior Director of Accounting to lead our accounting department and oversee the organization’s financial operations and enable strategic decision making. This leadership role will manage a global team to ensure excellence in financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and operational efficiency. The role balances day‑to‑day accounting oversight with strategic financial leadership, mentorship, and providing insights and recommendations that support the company’s long‑term growth.
Responsibilities- Lead, coach, and develop a global team of professionals, fostering growth, accountability, and collaboration.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and treasury.
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and all local, state, and federal tax and reporting requirements.
- Manage monthend, quarter end, and yearend close processes.
- Oversee cash flow management, weekly/monthly cash requirements, and liquidity planning.
- Coordinate and manage external financial audits; develop recommendations for procedural improvements.
- Establish, document, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data accuracy.
- Develop and present monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for investors and the board.
- Experience in cost accounting for complex manufacturing operations and consolidating financials.
- Lead postmerger integrations, including global teams, financial systems, and IFRS and GAAP.
- Build and maintain relationships with banks, auditors, and vendors.
- Analyze operational costs and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
- Work with department leaders to allocate resources effectively.
- Implement and optimize accounting and financial systems (Net Suite experience preferred).
- Automate processes and integrations with Net Suite.
- Provide clear financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision‑making.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA strongly preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 5 years as a Controller or equivalent senior leadership role.
- Experience leading and developing accounting teams.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, compliance, and internal controls.
- Proven track record managing audits, tax compliance, and financial reporting.
- Net Suite ERP or similar system experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem‑solving mindset; ability to recommend and implement improvements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills.
- Competitive salary and performance‑based incentives, with an annual base compensation range of $200k – $225k.
