WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Vice President, Project & Program Management to work in New York City, New York
Your Impact
- Serve as Owner’s Representative, Delivery Partner, and/or Independent PMO with initial assignment to lead design-builder delivery of a CBTC program through the design, construction and closeout phases
- Develop and maintain Project Management Plans to include Program Controls, Document Control, Design Management, Risk Management, Safety Management, Quality Control, and Environmental Compliance
- Familiarity with NYC transit agency policies and procedures
- Responsible for independent review of project progress
- Perform schedule review and analysis
- Provide solutions to project issues
- Review and strategize improvement to key operational performance metrics
- Support and empower staff and direct reports to execute project assignments on time and on budget
- Develop and maintain relationships with public and private sector clients, agencies, partner firms and sub-consultants, as well as other external stakeholders such as vendors and suppliers.
- Lead staff development which includes mentoring, training, coaching and professional development.
- Accountable for overall management and successful execution of major projects within the transportation market, monitoring internal and external events, expenses, performance, and profitability.
- Oversee the discipline’s vision and mission to promote an appropriate value proposition that accounts for corporate and WSP client business strategy, governmental regulations and policies, and QA/QC in delivery.
- Create a learning culture that values innovative subject matter expertise and fosters effective and continual personal development.
- Develop and implement a communication strategy to increase the effectiveness of discipline-related processes, systems, and practices, and mitigating discipline-related risks.
- Serve as program management discipline subject matter expert to a variety of internal / external entities including Federal, State, and Local Agencies, Clients, Subcontractors, industry-related groups, and various government and community entities.
- Manage overall delivery team’s performance and provide inspiring leadership to assigned management and staff.
- Develop extensive high-level business contacts and client base for providing high program management services including identifying additional business development opportunities, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities.
- Collaborate with professionals and senior leadership from a variety of disciplines to provide future ready solutions for clients.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You Are
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- Extensive Design-Build project delivery experience on transit projects as a Program Manager
- 15+ years of relevant experience
- Proven experience in the delivery of public rail transportation infrastructure projects, with construction costs in excess of $1 billion
- Advanced SME-level proficiency with transit and rail engineering principles, practices, process, standard of care, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent computer skill - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite particularly Word, Excel and Power Point
