Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050. We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing. Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs, and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

We are in search of new talent in the following position:

Position:
Front Desk Supervisor (Various Shifts)

The Front Desk Supervisor coordinates the operation of the program during the assigned shift.

Location: 108-75 Avenue D, Brooklyn, NY 11236

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred plus one year of relevant experience working in a similar capacity in a social services setting. Must possess good interpersonal skills and basic computer knowledge. Certifications in security are required and Fire Safety (F-80) must be obtained within 3 months of hire.

Front Desk Supervisor Principal Responsibilities:
  • Directs all front desk staff activities to ensure adherence to policy and procedures.
  • Ensures proper documentation of front desk activities.
  • Provides emergency assistance to residents as needed and supervises incident management system.
  • Monitors building safety.
  • Conducts rounds at residence as assigned.
