Summary:
The Regional General Manager (Events) (internally referred to as Regional Director) is responsible for the strategic growth, commercial performance and successful delivery of events across the region. The role establishes and maintains host city relationships and venue onboarding, launches events into market, and works cross-functionally to develop region-specific event, ticketing and hospitality strategies aligned to global objectives.
The role holds overall accountability for financial performance, systems and processes, compliance, reporting and regional resourcing, providing leadership to Heads of Event and ensuring events are delivered efficiently, compliantly and profitably.
Key Responsibilities:
- New venues: establish & maintain host city stakeholder relationships, venue negotiation & contracting, event feasibility, onboard host venues; launch the event into the market.
- Strategic planning: create event concepts that amplifies the region's benefits and commercial opportunities; apply global objectives to identify regional goals for growth and new opportunities; work cross functionally with Mar Comms & Commercial teams to successfully manage the region.
- Ticketed/hospitality experience: identify ticketed & hospitality experiences that leverage commercial opportunities presented in the region taking into account local market demographic, P&L etc. Ensure appropriate work flows to launch products into market; effective marketing and sales resources; track progress and apply learnings to maximise growth.
- Systems and Processes: establish and embed systems and processes that support the efficiency and effectiveness of the businesses operations in line with the One Event Plan.
- Financial management: forecast and budget management; event revenues; procurement procedures; regional finance processes, that collectively support the profitable functioning of the region
- Personnel management: create a resourcing structure in the region; apply cost saving & efficiency opportunities; manage recruitment, onboarding and management of Heads of Events and their event team; act in Head of Event role in periods of absence
- Risk management:
provide direction to Company Officers to support their legal obligations in the region and ultimately ensure the event is compliant with local regulation - Reporting: represent the region in global reporting processes; conduct and analyse regional data to identify areas for improvement
- Event Operations: ultimately responsible for the successful delivery of events; oversee the planning and delivery of the event; provide direction and troubleshooting to Head of Event
