Machine Operator, Manufacturing Engineer
* This position is for 1st Shift (M-F, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm)*

PositionPurpose
The Machinist is responsible for building, assembling, and repairing precision machinery and components for our production operations. This role combines manual machining and welding with CNC operation (80% manual / 20% CNC) and equipment maintenance and fabrication, providing a key support function for both the Engineering and Production departments. Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience in machining and fabrication, strong blueprint reading skills, and a passion for creating high-quality mechanical solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Hands on fabrication and assembly of machinery, fixtures, and components for packaging, converting, and related manufacturing equipment.
- Perform manual welding, drilling, tapping, cutting, bending, and other hands-on fabrication tasks.
- Operate conventional lathes, milling machines, surface grinders,
as well as CNC equipment (lathe and milling). - Read and work from blueprints, schematics, and drawings; set up CNC machines using Feature CAM.
- Repair, maintain, and troubleshoot machinery and production equipment as needed.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to address equipment issues.
- Identify opportunities for process and machinery improvements.
- Maintain a safe and organized workspace, including regular cleanup routines.
- The ability to work with blueprints
- Assembly of machinery and machine components.
- Ability to use all machine shop tools for fabrication of parts.
- Basic knowledge of CNC machine operation.
- Basic knowledge of feature cam.
- Minimal supervision from the engineering manager and mechanical engineer.
- Trade School Diploma
- Manual welding, drilling & tapping
- Setup and operation of conventional lathe

- Torque settings of various fasteners
- Shop safety
