The Zund Machine Operator is responsible for preparing and operating Zund digital cutting machines, including loading materials, setting tools, and verifying cut depths. The role involves managing digital files using Zund Cut Queue software to accurately retrieve and process digital cut files. Additionally, the operator ensures quality assurance by monitoring cutting processes, performing quality checks, and making necessary adjustments to meet precision and product standards.
Maintaining equipment and ensuring a clean, safe work area in compliance with safety protocols is also essential.
- Prepare and operate Zund digital cutting machines.
- Load materials and set tools for operations.
- Verify cut depths for accuracy.
- Monitor cutting processes and perform quality checks.
- Make adjustments to ensure product standards are met.
- Maintain equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- 1-3 years of basic CNC operating experience.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with general production or machine operating.
- On-site training for Zund machines will be provided.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment offers multiple shift options across two locations, Brooklyn Navy Yard in New York and Westhampton Beach, NY. Shifts include Mon‑Fri 3rd shift, Sat‑Sun 1st and 2nd shifts (PT) at Brooklyn Navy Yard. Operators will work in facilities where safety and cleanliness are priorities.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn, New York.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $26.00/hr.
