Chief Development Officer – Ramah Darom
Ramah Darom seeks a highly motivated, mission‑driven, proven strategic fundraiser to join the Leadership Team as Chief Development Officer. The role offers an opportunity to elevate philanthropy among current donors and build a pipeline of major donors – including camp and retreat alumni, parents, grandparents, community leaders, and foundations.
PrimaryJob Responsibilities
- Set Development Strategy: develop and implement short‑ and long‑term plans to meet fundraising goals.
- Act as an active player in the Leadership Team and participate in high‑level decisions.
- Define strategies for donor groups including camp participants, parents, alumni.
- Manage donor engagement, cultivation, solicitation, stewardship with Board and leadership.
- Oversee Annual Fund & Capital Campaign: grow annual fund, create appeals, maintain solicitation calendar, develop marketing, manage capital campaigns, prepare reports to Board.
- Solicit Major Gifts, Grants & Grow Endowment: communicate with donors, build relationships, qualify pipeline, manage grants process, explore grant research strategies.
- Support Board Management & Relations: act as Board Liaison, prepare materials for board meetings, surveys.
- BA or BS degree required.
- 8+ years fundraising experience with annual gifts totaling $1M+.
- Track record of identifying, engaging, soliciting major donors and closing 5‑6 figure gifts.
- Experience partnering with internal leadership on donor engagement, grant applications and fund development.
- Highly motivated self‑starter, independent with strong organizational, communication, and CRM skills.
- Proficiency in donor database CRMs, Microsoft Office suite, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel for donor visits and participate in programs on campus as needed.
Annual compensation range $150,000 – $180,000 (commensurate with experience). Benefits include health insurance, retirement contribution, camp tuition/program discounts, and eligibility for the Jewish Community Professional (JCP) Tuition Grant.
