Research Support Specialist in the National Crystallization Center
The Research Support Specialist is responsible for day-to-day operations for optimization crystallization services in the National Crystallization Center (NCC), as well as assisting with the high-throughput operations. The NCC is a research facility serving the structural biology community, focusing on advancing crystallization science and providing researchers access to state-of-the-art experimental methods for generating macromolecular crystals for structure determination.
As a member of the National Crystallization Center team, the candidate will work in a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative environment, with opportunities to take initiative and expand your skillset in structural biology.

Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Some experience working in a laboratory
- Highly collaborative and team-oriented approach to conducting work and solving problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to acquire new skills and ask questions
- Laboratory skills including pipetting, accurate weighing, microscopy, and molecular biology skills
- Experience with structural biology and knowledge of protein crystallization experimental set-up
- Familiarity with electronic record keeping and Laboratory Information Management Systems
- Time spent standing during laboratory work
- Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
$35,000 - $40,000
Additional Salary InformationThe salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate.
