Job Title
Postdoctoral Associate – Stem cell–based human neural circuit models
Job Number109258
LocationNew York,US
Job DescriptionThe Miura Laboratory in the Department of Molecular Pathobiology at New York University (NYU) College of Dentistry, is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join our research team.
Our research group investigates the fundamental principles of human nervous system assembly and pathophysiology at the molecular, cellular, and systems levels. Our research leverages human stem cell–based 3D models—organoids and assembloids—with advanced imaging approaches to understand how the human nervous system is assembled and how they undergo pathological changes in neurological disorders. We are looking for a highly motivated, creative, and independent researcher to contribute to exciting projects at the intersection of human neurobiology, stem cell biology, and bioengineering.
Key responsibilities of this Postdoctoral Associate position include designing and executing experiments, analyzing and presenting research findings, and contributing to publications. This position offers access to a highly collaborative scientific community within the Department and provides strong opportunities for professional growth and career development.
QualificationsThe successful candidate will hold a PhD, MD, DDS, or equivalent advanced degree, with a strong track record of academic excellence demonstrated by high-quality publications and competitive awards. Ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Human stem cell or primary neuron culture
- Histology experiments (e.g., immunocytochemistry, in situ hybridization)
- Advanced imaging and data analysis (e.g., confocal, light‑sheet, two‑photon microscopy)
- Cellular bioengineering approach (e.g., on‑chip cell culture)
- Electrophysiological recording experiments (e.g., whole‑cell or extracellular recording)
- Genome editing and disease modeling (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9, TALEN)
