Job Description

As a Security Officer - Government Patrol Rounds in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated government locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while remaining highly visible. Your role includes conducting routine patrols and providing outstanding customer service and communication to all individuals on site.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or unauthorized access.
  • Observe and report any irregularities, such as property damage, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
  • Communicate promptly with Allied Universal management and/or local authorities as necessary in response to incidents.
  • Maintain a visible presence to help to deter potential issues and provide reassurance to staff and visitors at the location.
  • Complete required reports and logs in a timely and accurate manner as directed by Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Access control and badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
