Community Associate Position Overview
The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is currently seeking a Community Associate for our Civic Awareness Unit within our Community Partnerships Division (CPD). The CPD staff focuses on building strong community partnerships, addresses quality of life concerns, and oversees crime prevention and mentoring programs. The Community Associate will be responsible for a variety of duties including, but not limited to:
A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. All candidates must have a high school diploma or its educational equivalent.
Preference will be given to candidates with at least one year of experience working in a professional office setting and/or working with the community and/or in the criminal justice field. Preference will also be given to candidates that have the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences, as well as those that possess strong collaborative, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.
Must have a working knowledge of computers;
Microsoft Office software; and excellent oral and written communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, written). Bilingual a plus.
Salary: $50,000
Will be required to work evenings/and or weekend hours based on CPD needs.
