Full-time (35 hours per week).
CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City. CAMBA offers more than 180 integrated programs across Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. CAMBA Gardens Phase II is a 293-unit supportive/affordable housing development in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, with units allocated for formerly homeless individuals and families, Population A and Population II categories.
CAMBA provides on-site case management and supportive services in addition to security.
- Communicate effectively with clients, direct reporting staff, peers, supervisors, and funders.
- Plan and organize program activities to maximize program contract goals and performance targets.
- Motivate, coach and counsel direct reporting staff to excel.
- Complete client psychiatric assessments, as necessary.
- Ensure that all direct reporting staff complete required case management documentation including assessments, service plans, and referrals to providers.
- Ensure client charting documentation is up-to-date and reflects services provided (service plans, re-certifications, psychiatric assessments).
- Assist with developing program content addressing residents’ housing, substance abuse treatment, mental health, and employment needs.
- Provide assistance, interventions and follow-up for critical incidents with clients.
- Encourage teamwork among direct reporting staff and peers.
- Troubleshoot program problems and make decisions per policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Conduct and document one-on-one supervision of direct reporting staff to assess and improve performance, identify training needs, and professional development.
- Manage change resistance from clients, staff, and funders; administer constructive discipline as needed.
- Monitor clients’ progress toward goals and document via progress notes; review documentation for accuracy and completeness; review and sign time sheets.
- Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff.
- Conduct chart auditing of client files (paper and electronic) and ensure data integrity in the electronic database.
- Manage time effectively and coordinate program activities to maximize staff time; lead and participate in administrative and staff meetings.
- Provide required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and funders; may prepare marketing materials and/or community outreach to recruit clients; may prescreen clients and conduct intake or reassessments as needed.
- Assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating social/peer support events and group facilitation for clients as applicable.
- Interact with funders as needed; may make hiring/firing recommendations with HR.
- Ensure staff utilization of the electronic database and oversee data integrity.
- Licensed Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling
- Master’s degree with Social Work (Social Workers must obtain licensure within one year of hire) or Mental Health Counseling (counselors must obtain their limited permit; permit valid for two years and must obtain licensure before end of period).
- Experience with housing issues and working with individuals with mental illness, substance abuse issues, HIV/AIDS and other special needs.
- Experience developing and facilitating groups.
$70,000-$75,000 annually
When salary ranges are listed, the range represents the low and high end for the applicable position and program. The salary offered depends on factors such as experience, education, budget, program size, internal equity, and other factors required for the position and organization.
