Java Engineer

We are looking to hire a strong Java Engineer for the FX trading business in NY to be part of our FX Engineering Team!

• Create Java‑based applications and systems from conceptualization to implementation, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
• Write well‑designed, efficient, and testable code using the Java programming language and relevant frameworks.
• Conduct thorough testing (including unit tests) and debug applications to identify and resolve issues, ensuring smooth operation.
• Work with other software developers, product owners, and QA engineers to understand requirements and deliver comprehensive applications.
• Create operational manuals, system specifications, and other documentation to guide users and developers.

• Proficiency in Java with 5+ years of experience writing clean, optimized code.
• Excellent knowledge of data structures and algorithms. Experience with Spring Boot, messaging frameworks and caches.
• Familiarity with relational databases to manage data transactions.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to tackle complex technical challenges.
• Ability to create APIs for various applications and systems.
• Cloud experience.

• Experience with Kafka, Solace, Redis.
• Experience writing latency‑sensitive code.

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $110,600 – $184,400. In addition to the offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/ “bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job‑related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
