Senior Software Engineer (Java, Java EE, Spring Framework)

Full‑time position in New York City with Akkodis. Salary range: $150,000 - $175,000 per year.

• Working with Product Management, Technology and Operations to create and maintain detailed functional and technical user stories for development and technical support purposes
• Developing and testing new functionality, enhancements and features, and performing defect fixes per Product direction in an Agile development environment
• Performing Design and Code Reviews
• Completing assigned development tasks on time and with high quality and quickly troubleshooting issues and providing fixes
• Contributing to development standards and assisting with evaluation of others’ work
• Developing assigned product maintenance releases in accordance with prioritized lists of enhancements and defects
• Assisting in the architecture, design and prototyping of application systems
• Estimating work effort for projected development initiatives
• Providing SME technology support that addresses production incidents in a timely manner
• Assisting in defining and documenting support procedures as needed for Operational Teams
• Assisting in training team members and cross‑functional resources in functionality and operation of the system
• Staying up to date with emerging technologies and applying them to improve development processes and software quality
• Participating in technology strategy and planning initiatives and engaging as a member of a scrum team
• Providing 3rd party application support, as well as testing and implementation support
• Providing SME support 7X24
• Communicating effectively with internal personnel at all levels and with vendors and external clients
• Demonstrating high levels of professionalism and decorum

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering or related field
• 8+ years of related IT development experience in Java, Java EE, and Spring Framework
• Ability to lead and engage/contribute to design, development, testing and implementation of applications
• Detail oriented and able to interact and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, and at times external clients at all levels
• Expertise in Test Driven Development and Test Automation
• Expert ability to implement Java EE design patterns such as MVC, Singleton, Facade, DAO, DTO, and Business Delegate in n‑Tier distributed Enterprise Applications
• Experience developing RESTful Web Services and integrated backend services
• Strong experience in Spring Framework and Spring Boot Architecture
• Expertise in complex system design and evaluating and proposing alternative software designs
• Thorough knowledge of secure development practices
• 3-6 years’ experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies and as part of a scrum team
• Sound RDBMS concepts and SQL skills
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast‑paced environment
• Dev Ops – Build automation tools experience and experience in CI/CD pipeline software including Azure Dev Ops, Git Hub, Jenkins, Maven, etc.
• Experience with the development of websites, web services, windows services, and console applications utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio 2019+
• Experienced and capable team player with exceptional analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills. Highly motivated, enthusiastic and self‑starter
• Experience developing, maintaining, and supporting large critical‑infrastructure financial transaction processing applications, including strategic planning
• Experience working in a Banking or Financial organization with banking/financial systems development background or knowledge; payment systems experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Open Text Fortify for dynamic and static code scans is a plus
• Background in OWASP and security standards is a plus
