About the RoleThis Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack opportunity focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining production software for regulated audit workflows. The position involves end-to-end ownership of full-stack applications, from relational data architecture and backend services to user-facing interfaces, internal tools, integrations, and deployment. Key systems include an engagement management platform, client and partner portals, document processing workflows, and audit automation capabilities.
The role requires strong Type Script, React, Node.js, and PostgreSQL/Supabase expertise, with an emphasis on secure multi-tenant architecture, data integrity, and reliable production systems. The engineer will work directly with the founding team, engineers, audit professionals, and external partners to build applications supporting employee benefit plan audits, including 401(k) and 403(b) plans.
What You'll Do- Design, build, deploy, and maintain full-stack software applications, taking ownership of features from initial data modeling through production release.
- Develop an internal engagement management system that supports audit lifecycle tracking, engagement status, review and approval workflows, sign-offs, and exception-first review processes.
- Build and improve client and partner portals for secure document intake, engagement status visibility, and streamlined interactions with plan sponsors, third-party administrators (TPAs), and recordkeepers.
- Design and maintain relational data models covering audit engagements, employee benefit plans, audit years, evidence trails, and reproducible audit records.
- Develop robust database schemas using PostgreSQL/Supabase to support application scalability, data consistency, and long-term maintainability.
- Build and maintain integrations with recordkeeper systems, payroll file pipelines, programmatic invoicing, scheduling services, and external partner workflows.
- Implement application-layer interfaces and contracts connecting automated audit processing outputs with internal and external software systems.
- Develop secure authentication, authorization, row-level data isolation, and multi-tenant access controls for applications handling personally identifiable information (PII), payroll records, and financial data.
- Implement audit logging, sensitive-data protection, and evidence integrity controls to support regulated workflows and reliable audit trails.
- Maintain application reliability through observability, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), deployment pipelines, and production monitoring.
- Build and improve automated audit workflows and AI-native product features while maintaining deterministic, version-controlled regulatory logic.
- Contribute to the complete product experience, including client proposals, partnership integrations, and updates to marketing website functionality.
- Work with the founding team, audit staff, engineers, and external partners to translate operational needs into practical software features.
- Collaborate with partner CPAs to implement domain-specific requirements, audit review standards, and regulatory workflow functionality.
- Apply product judgment to prioritize technical improvements, balance immediate requirements with future scalability, and deliver efficient tools for real users.
