Long Island City, Manhattan, East Harlem, and Yorkville (Pick up of food/supplies every morning will be in LIC. Delivery route will be in Manhattan)

Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
   
   Pay: $22/hr

Job Summary
   
   Non-profit, multi-service organization seeks punctual Drivers who will be required to drive and maintain a vehicle used to deliver meals to homebound elders. Transports a team to complete all meal deliveries for their assigned routes within an established time frame. The driver is also responsible for delivering individual meals on a specific route. Experience working with other delivery companies in a similar program is ideal.

Essential functions:

Picks up and delivers meals to homebound seniors
   Picks up and drops off Delivery staff on the designated route
   Observe the client and their surrounding area; report concerns as needed
   Keeps vehicles clean and in good operating condition, assists with the oversight of the maintenance of vehicle
   Inspects vehicles daily and reports any operational or structural defects immediately
   Reviews vehicle documentation to ensure inspections, registration, and insurance information is up-to-date
   Maintainsan accurate daily log of meal deliveries and contributions collected
   Assists in scheduling meal deliveries to minimize the time and distance between deliveries
   Keeps daily gasoline and mileage records
   Picks up and returns vehicles to the garage or parking place daily

Minimum Qualifications:

Highly Punctual
   Personable. Able to work independently and in a group setting.
   High School Diploma is preferred
   A valid NYS Driver's License
   2 or more years of driving experience in NYC or high-traffic areas
   No more than 1 moving violation in 24 months
   Able to lift up to 50 pounds
   Prior supervisory experience is a plus
   Demonstrated sensitivity to an aging population
   Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
   Able to work either Thanksgiving or Christmas Day
