Job Description:

As a Senior Associate in our Real Estate Tax Services team based in our New York City office, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to our real estate clients. Under the guidance of our Managers and Directors, you will assist in managing client relationships and delivering high-quality tax solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations in the real estate industry.

  • Conduct income tax research and planning to optimize tax outcomes for clients.

  • Reconcile tax expense and liability accounts to ensure accuracy.

  • Quantify and document federal and state income tax liabilities, including book/tax adjustments and state apportionment.

  • Maintain strong client relationships and provide exceptional client service.

  • Mentor and train junior staff members to enhance their tax knowledge and skills.

  • Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations to provide timely and relevant advice to clients.

  • Collaborate with clients to identify and implement business and process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license required.

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a public accounting tax department.

  • Experience with a large public accounting firm preferred.

  • Strong analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills.

  • Proficiency in US GAAP and tax compliance and consulting.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work additional hours as needed to meet client deadlines.
