Client: Real Estate Firm
Role: Residential Property Accountant
Salary: $110,000 - $120,000/annually
Location: Manhattan, New York (Hybrid – 2-3 days a week in office)
About the role: We’re seeking a detail-oriented Residential Property Accountant to manage financial operations for a portfolio of residential properties in New York City. This role is responsible for cash management, financial reporting, budgeting, month end close, and analysis of property-level financial performance.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain general ledger and prepare monthly financial reports
- Prepare cash flow reports and ensure adequate cash balances
- Reconcile bank accounts and resolve discrepancies
- Perform month end closing procedures for each property
- Process accounts payable/receivable and tenant billing
- Assist with annual budgets and audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- 3+ years of residential property accounting experience
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, or similar)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
