Job DescriptionSeasons Kosher Supermarkets is one of the largest kosher supermarket chains in the nation. At present, there are nine Seasons locations across the Tri‑State area with plans to expand. The Reconciliation Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records, particularly those related to the balance sheet. Compare bank statements, general ledger accounts, and other relevant records.
Identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies, and prepare reports for management. Support the company’s A/P & A/R processes. This position is full‑time and in‑office. Our HQ is located in the Marine Park area in Brooklyn, NY.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations to ensure accurate records of financial transactions
- Prepare journal entries to reflect the correct financial position of the company
- Manage automated A software to compare financial records and bank statements
- Proficiency in using Net Suite for accounting tasks such as general ledger management, accounts payable and receivable, and financial reporting
- Configure and customize Net Suite reports, saved searches, and dashboards
- Troubleshoot Net Suite issues and provide support to other team members
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports
- Perform month‑end and year‑end close procedures
- Maintain the automated AP software, ensuring it is up‑to‑date and functioning correctly
- Manage vendor information within the system, including setting up new vendors and maintaining existing vendor records
- 3–5 years of accounting and reconciliation experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of data
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Proficiency in Net Suite
- Experience with financial reporting and analysis
- Experience with month‑end and year‑end close processes
- Knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations
- Experience with process improvement and optimization
- Previous experience in bank reconciliation or a similar role
- Proficiency with accounting software and automated bank reconciliation platforms
