Base pay range

$75,000.00/yr - $85,000.00/yr

A dynamic vertically integrated real estate company is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant with offices located in New York, NY. This role would sit on the corporate accounting team where the Staff Accountant would report to the Controller.

The Staff Accountant would support the Controller and assist with the month-end close, manage the GL, intercompany transactions, budgeting, P&L analysis, and perform monthly variance analysis.

This is a great position for someone who is looking to get more exposure in corporate accounting.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze large, complex data sets to identify trends and variances.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations across multiple business operations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to revenue, expenses, accruals and intercompany activity.
  • Support the month-end and quarter-end close by validating data, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely reporting.
  • Maintain and update schedules for key balance sheet and P&L accounts, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
  • Assist in developing and improving processes to streamline data flow between operational systems and the general ledger.
  • Collaborate with FP&A, Operations, and other internal stakeholders to ensure data integrity and accuracy of financial information.
  • Support internal and external audit requests by preparing documentation, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, including system enhancements, workflow improvements, and business analytics initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • 2+ years of corporate accounting experience
