Accounts Receivable Specialist

Growing company in New York, NY is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist. This is a full‑time opportunity supporting the finance and accounting department and working closely with the Controller. The position offers a compensation range up to $85,000 + benefits and bonus.

• 3+ years of accounts receivable experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field
• Technically savvy

• Ensure invoices are accurate, complete, and issued on time.
• Update billing information and verify pricing, PO numbers, and contract terms.
• Record incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit card, wire).
• Reconcile discrepancies between payments received and invoice amounts.
• Monitor aging reports to identify past‑due accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts weekly or monthly.
• Investigate and resolve short payments, unapplied payments, and chargebacks.
• Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly A/R aging reports.
• Respond to customer questions regarding billing or account status.
• Support month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Assist with audits related to revenue and receivables.
