Assurance Senior Manager, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing
BDO USA invites applications for the Assurance Senior Manager, Accounting Advisory & Outsourcing role.
Job SummaryResponsible for understanding complex accounting and reporting matters and advising companies on the proper application of accounting standards for both public and private companies. Assists with implementation of new standards, conducts training, and provides thought leadership.
Job Duties- Research complex auditing and reporting problems and communicate findings to clients.
- Design tools and templates for use on ARAS engagements.
- Evaluate impacts of new business transactions, discontinued operations, debt modifications, and stock compensation.
- Produce thought‑leadership pieces, conference calls, and live presentations for clients and prospective clients.
- Provide value‑added insights in BDO’s formal communications, articles, and speeches for external audiences.
- Participate on professional committees.
- Apply relevant GAAP, GAAS, SEC, PCAOB, and other applicable or emerging regulations and standards, as well as the BDO Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
- Other duties as required.
- Act as a career advisor to associates, seniors, and managers, as assigned.
- Provide verbal and written performance reviews to associates, seniors, and managers, as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or Economics required, or bachelor’s degree in another focus area combined with CPA certification. Master’s in Accountancy preferred.
Qualifications, Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Seven (7) or more years of relevant work experience.
- Supervisory experience.
- CPA certification (required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred.
- Experience with accounting research databases preferred.
- Solid understanding of public‑company accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent client development/relationship‑building skills.
- Excellent decision‑making skills.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and SEC.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Experience with accounting research databases.
National Range: $160,000 - $175,000.
