Location: New York City or Floral Park, Long Island (Hybrid)

Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite; 4 days during busy season)

A growing public accounting firm in the New York metro area is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to support expanding client demand and overall firm growth.

This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role for an experienced accountant who places a strong emphasis on client relationships, quality work, and reasonable workloads, particularly during busy season.

• Review and oversee client financial statements and general ledger activity
• Lead bookkeeping reviews and clean‑ups
• Prepare and review tax projections and returns for individuals and closely held businesses
• Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned clients
• Identify accounting issues, propose solutions, and communicate clearly with clients
• Mentor junior staff and review work as appropriate
• Work closely with partners on client service and workflow management

• 5+ years of experience in public accounting
• Background in small or regional public accounting firms strongly preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate preferred but not required
• Strong working knowledge of Quick Books (Desktop and Online)
• Experience with CCH Axcess Tax and Engagement or similar platforms preferred
• Comfortable handling both tax and accounting work
• Professional, personable, and client‑service oriented
