Payroll & Job Cost Accountant (Scottsville, NY)
Title: Payroll & Job Cost Accountant
Reports To: Controller
Department: Accounting
Summary of Position: The Payroll and Job Cost Accountant processes payroll for Tower Construction, Civil and Structural field crews, and performs auditing and reconciliation of payroll and accounting records.
Compensation: $25–$30 per hour based on experience
Payroll Responsibilities- Complete daily payroll for field crew into Sage, track hours and verify travel on GPS
- Ensure equipment and projects are linked to the correct number of hours for each crew
- Perform payroll and benefit related reconciliations
- Filing as needed
- Complete reports as needed for payroll purposes
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- A/R payment postings in Sage and customer files
- Process early payment discounts
- Complete billing for departments
- Track loan payments
- Complete loan reconciliation and forecasting
- Track bank transfers
- Collections and A/R forecasting
- Perform bank reconciliations
- Perform General Ledger account reconciliations
- Complete Sales Tax reporting, reconciliations & filing
- Hold, process and reconcile all petty cash transactions
- Complete Warehouse PO’s
- Backup A/P when needed
- Create various reports as needed
- Other duties as assigned by manager
- Truck and equipment recordkeeping & filings
- Fuel system/Fleet Cards administration & audits
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proven ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Proven ability in multi-tasking
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to adapt to changing work environment
- Attention to detail
- Proven ability to keep confidential information secure
- High School Diploma / GED
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting
- 1–2 years of Construction Industry experience
- 1–2 years of experience in an Intermediate Accounting position
- 1–2 years of Payroll experience
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Sage 300 software is a plus
