Controller​/Accounting Manager

We are seeking a Controller / Accounting Manager with direct property management industry experience to own our accounting function. This is a hands‑on, operational role focused on accuracy, consistency, and service in an enjoyable, non‑corporate environment.

• Own day‑to‑day property management accounting across multiple buildings and entities
• Manage month‑end and year‑end closes; ensure clean, accurate financials
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Review general ledger activity, reconciliations, and building‑level reporting
• Serve as a client‑facing accounting resource, responding to inquiries from apartment owners, boards, and tenants
• Address accounting‑related questions and issues promptly and professionally
• Support audits and tax preparation with outside accountants
• Partner with internal teams to deliver responsive, high‑quality service
• Continuously improve accounting processes, controls, and workflows

• 6+ years of accounting experience in property management or real estate
• Experience managing multiple properties/entities
• Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset
• Comfortable engaging directly with owners, tenants, and internal stakeholders
• Familiarity with property management/accounting systems (Yardi, App Folio, Property ware, or similar)

• Base salary range: $120,000–$140,000, commensurate with experience
