Staff Accountant

A privately held global distributor is seeking a Staff Accountant
. Position is 3x/week in NYC office.

We’re looking for a hands‑on accountant who can manage AP, AR, monthly close, bank recs, journal entries, and provide data‑driven insights. Experience in distribution, logistics, inventory, COGS, and ERP systems is highly preferred. Ideal for someone with strong technical skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work directly with company owners.

• Manage Accounts Payable
  : invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations
• Oversee Accounts Receivable
  : invoicing, collections, aging reports
• Perform GAAP month‑end close
  , journal entries, bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Analyze financial data (revenue, margins, COGS, trends) to support decision‑making
• Support ERP data integrity and process improvements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years in accounting (AP/AR required)
• Strong understanding of GAAP
  , inventory, and COGS
• Experience in distribution or logistics a plus
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (Datacor/Chempax preferred)
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and ability to work cross‑functionally
