Role: Accounting Manager
Salary: $160K - $190K/annually + equity
Location: New York, New York
Base pay range$/yr - $/yr
What You’ll Do- Build the Foundation: Own the full-cycle month-end close, journal entries, and financial statement preparation.
- Architect Scalable Systems: Implement new financial systems and develop internal controls and policies to support growth.
- Technical Leadership: Lead complex accounting areas: revenue recognition (ASC 606), lease accounting (ASC 842), stock-based compensation.
- Optimize Spend: Own the Procure-to-Pay process: seamless AP processing, vendor onboarding, spend visibility.
- Compliance & Audit: Serve as primary point of contact for annual audits, tax filings, regulatory reporting.
- Strategic Partnership: Cross-functionally automate manual processes, provide insights that inform major decisions.
- Experience: 6-8+ years progressive accounting, trajectory of increasing responsibility.
- Credentials: Active CPA required; bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- A blend of Big Four public accounting and startup/high-growth tech experience.
- Technical Mastery: Deep fluency in US GAAP, love for technical research.
- Toolbox: Proficiency with ERPs (Net Suite, Quick Books), advanced Excel/Sheets, modern SaaS billing tools. SQL or Stripe experience is a major plus.
- Mindset: Builder’s mentality: see messy process as an opportunity to create streamlined system.
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant in fast‑paced, VC‑backed environment.
