Management Accounting Senior Associate; CD0E

Referment is working with a global investment firm hiring a senior associate for its Management Company Accounting team within Financial Operations. The team owns the books, financial reporting, and control environment for the firm’s US and international management companies. This is a role for a CPA who wants genuine independence: you’ll drive change initiatives from scoping through post-implementation review and act as the technical expert others turn to on financial reporting and controls.

• Own and independently drive change initiatives across the management company accounting function — scoping, design, implementation, and post‑implementation review.
• Prepare and review the team’s recurring financial reporting deliverables, keeping them accurate, complete, and on time.
• Serve as the technical resource on complex accounting matters, reporting requirements, and the design and operation of controls.
• Engage with Fund Accounting, Tax, and Legal and Compliance to shape the accounting side of firmwide initiatives and resolve reporting questions.
• Partner across Financial Operations and technology to strengthen processes, close controls gaps, and build scalable, well‑documented workflows.
• Identify opportunities to apply generative AI and automation to close, reporting, and control activities — and help bring those solutions into production.

• Five to eight years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within alternative asset management, financial services, or public accounting.
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and a CPA — the CPA is required.
• Deep technical expertise in financial reporting and internal controls, with the judgment to work independently on ambiguous, high‑stakes problems.
• A record of owning initiatives end to end and raising the quality of a broader team’s work through review, coaching, and process design.
• Excellent communication, close attention to detail, and the discretion to manage sensitive information professionally.
