Job Description:

A large, established facilities management company is seeking an experienced Interim General Ledger Manager to provide immediate leadership and oversight of its general ledger function. Reporting directly to the Controller, this person will manage a team of four accounting professionals and take ownership of month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll-related accounting, and general ledger accuracy. The company is looking for someone who can step in quickly, lead a younger team effectively, and maintain strong accounting processes in a fast-paced environment.

There is potential for the assignment to become permanent for the right person, but the immediate priority is finding a strong interim leader. Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day general ledger accounting and ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage the month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and monitor the monthly close calendar and ensure deadlines are met. Review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations. Oversee accounting for accruals, prepaids, payroll, revenue, deferrals, and other general ledger activity. Review monthly bank reconciliations and research discrepancies. Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.

Support year-end audit requests and coordinate with external auditors. Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cash Management, and other accounting teams. Review weekly payroll journal entries, payroll accruals, and monthly payroll account reconciliations. Help maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, controls, and reporting processes. Lead, mentor, and provide day-to-day direction to a team of Senior and Staff Accountants.

Qualifications:

Strong General Ledger accounting experience at the Manager level. Hands-on experience leading month-end and year-end close. Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting. Net Suite experience is required. Prior people-management experience is required.
