Assistant Controller

We’re currently recruiting for an Assistant Controller opportunity with a well-established organization in New York.

This is a hands-on leadership role for an accounting professional who can own the close and financial reporting processes, lead a team, and drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
• Oversee GL accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Perform P&L and variance analysis
• Support external audits, internal controls, and compliance
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals
• Improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
• Support ERP and financial systems optimization
• Partner with Finance and cross-functional teams

Ideal Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
• 2–3+ years of people management experience
• Strong U.S. GAAP and financial reporting knowledge
• Proven ownership of month-end/year-end close
• Strong GL and balance sheet reconciliation experience
• ERP experience and advanced Excel skills
• CPA strongly preferred
• Public accounting or experience in a large/capital-intensive organization is a plus
