We are seeking an Accounting Supervisor to manage accounting activities and ensure compliance with corporate policies and external audits. The ideal candidate will manage the accounts payable and payroll functions, monthly account closings, and report preparation in support of the financial statements. The Accounting Supervisor will report to and work closely with the Assistant Controller and others in the organization in analyzing and reconciling accounts and developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

Essential Functions

• Maintain general ledgers and other accounting records of two operating companies and 2-3 smaller international subsidiaries.
• Prepare, verify, allocate, and post journal entries.
• Reconcile accounts, including bank accounts, cash disbursement accounts, payroll, and customer accounts.
• Support and improve the month-end close processes and consistent communication with the internal stakeholders (controllers/finance analysts from multiple entities and external stakeholders such as auditors and tax consultants).
• Prepare and analyze Trial balances and financial statements, such as balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, shareholders' equity, related party transactions, inter-company balance reconciliations, etc.
• Meet reporting deadlines and support month- and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other rules and regulations.
• Provide financial analysis and research at the account, entity, division, department, and customer or vendor level.
• Inspect account books for efficiency and accuracy.
• Assist in coordinating and completing annual audits and tax filing with external firms.
• Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.

Education and Experience:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration.
• US CPA is highly preferred.
• 2-4 years of post-graduate experience with a top first or second-tier CPA firm and/or private entrepreneur-led company industry experience.
• Wholesale, Distribution, and Logistics company experience preferred.
• Self-Driven, Proactive Thinker, Team Builder, and Collaborative.
• Process Driven, Problem-Solver.
• Competent verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to work on-site in Wappingers Falls, NY.
• Ability to travel on domestic flights for up to 10% of the year.
• US citizen or permanent resident (no Visa sponsorship is available).
