Corporate Finance - Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance/accounting team. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional lookingto gain hands-on experience across general ledger accounting, internal controls, cross-functional collaboration, and financial operations.

This position offers a hybrid schedule requiring 2 days per week on-site in our Garden City office and 3 days remote.

• Prepare, record, and post monthly journal entries.
• Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure complete and accurate
  financial records.
• Execute daily maintenance tasks over accrual balances, monitoring balances to ensure
  proper tracking, recording, and timely true-ups.
• Review and assist with the approval of promotional accruals, ensuring proper
  documentation and proper accounting treatment.
• Prepare schedules, support documentation, and work papers for quarterly reviews and
  year-end external audits.
• Ensure documentation is compliant with internal controls
• Partner regularly with other departments (sales, AP, operations)
• Assist the Accounting Manager and Assistant controller with special projects and routine
  process improvements.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA track is a plus but not required
• 0-2 years of accounting experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, basic formulas).
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and basic accounting concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Capable of working under pressure and meeting targets and deadlines
• Must be able to adapt to changing in process or deadlines
