Company Overview:
A global real estate private equity and investment management firm with $5.6 billion in gross assets under management is seeking a Project Accountant. The role involves day-to-day accounting and financial management of assigned real estate development projects.
Job Responsibilities:- Maintain project budgets, commitments, and related financial information in Yardi.
- Review and code invoices to the appropriate contract, cost category, and accounting period.
- Monitor actual and committed costs against budget and identify variances.
- Prepare and submit lender and other capital-source draws, including required supporting documentation.
- Reconcile funding receipts, disbursements, outstanding invoices, and related general ledger activity.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for assigned development projects.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other month-end close work papers.
- Develop a strong understanding of assigned projects and proactively communicate significant issues.
- Participate in project meetings and work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
- Look for opportunities to standardize, automate, and improve recurring accounting and reporting processes.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience; real estate, development, construction, or property accounting experience preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP and experience with general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience with development budgets and construction/lender draws preferred.
- Yardi experience preferred; strong Excel skills required.
Salary: $95,000 - $120,000, Plus Bonus
