Controller

Hiring Range: $110,000 to $135,000 DOE

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the effectiveness of internal controls. This role helps manage day-to-day accounting functions while providing financial leadership, operational insight, and strategic support to executive management.

The Controller directs accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory accounting, fixed assets, cash management, financial reporting, budgeting support, and audit coordination. The position also plays a key role in process improvement, ERP optimization, and financial planning initiatives.

Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.

Maintain integrity of the general ledger and supporting reconciliations.

Analyze financial results, variances, trends, and operational performance.

Prepare financial reports and presentations for executive leadership.

Support cash flow management and financial forecasting activities.

Direct daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and inventory accounting.

Ensure transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

Manage revenue recognition, accruals, reserves, and intercompany transactions.

Oversee banking activities, reconciliations, and cash controls.

Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.

Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, audit requirements, and company policies.

Coordinate annual financial audits and act as primary contact for external auditors.

Support tax preparation activities and coordination with external tax advisors.

Maintain and update accounting policies and standard operating procedures.

Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance staff.

Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations.

Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Collaborate with cross-functional departments to support operational and financial objectives.

Oversee ERP system functionality related to accounting and financial reporting.

Support ERP implementations, upgrades, integrations, and optimization initiatives.

Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency.

Ensure data accuracy and integrity across financial systems.

Assist executive leadership with budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
