Job Description About the Opportunity
A leading commercial real estate organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial reporting for a diverse commercial property portfolio.
This role offers exposure to office, retail, hospitality, and mixed-use assets while partnering closely with finance and operations teams on financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and portfolio performance. Responsibilities- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reporting.
- Review general ledger activity and prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash management activities.
- Analyze financial statements, budget variances, and portfolio performance.
- Assist with cash flow forecasting and annual budgeting.
- Support year-end audits and preparation of GAAP financial statements.
- Develop and improve Excel-based reporting and financial analysis tools.
- Collaborate with accounting, finance, and operations teams on ongoing reporting and special projects.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- 3+ years of accounting experience within commercial real estate.
- Public accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- JD Edwards experience is a plus.
- CPA or CPA-track preferred.
