The following duties represent the typical responsibilities associated with this position. They are not intended to be all-inclusive.
- Performs professional accounting work and prepares technical accounting reports in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintains journals, ledgers, and other financial records; analyzes transactions and posts appropriate accounting entries.
- Reviews financial documents such as requisitions, journal entries, invoices, and other financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established guidelines.
- Assists with specialized accounting activities, which may include:
- Fixed asset accounting
- Cash management and investment support
- Assists with preparation of audit schedules and work papers.
- Prepares routine and special financial, statistical, and management reports.
- Reconciles accounts and reviews subsidiary ledgers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assists in monitoring accounting systems, internal controls, and financial procedures to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Works collaboratively with other departments and staff to ensure effective financial operations
