Senior Project Accountant

HireIQ is partnering with a large, established New York construction and development organization to hire an experienced Senior Project Accountant.

The business has more than 200 employees, over $2B in completed projects and 12.5M+ square feet of completed work
, offering exposure to significant projects and a highly established platform.

• Work across major New York construction and development projects

You will take ownership of the accounting and financial management of multiple projects, including:

• Job costing and project financial reporting
• Project budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
• Construction draws and project billing
• Subcontractor invoices and payments
• Commitments, purchase orders and change orders
• WIP and project profitability analysis
• Lien waivers and project documentation
• Cash-flow monitoring
• Reconciliations and month-end close support
• Project closeout
• Working directly with Project Managers to identify financial risks and issues

• 5+ years of accounting experience within construction, development or a similar project-based environment
• Strong construction accounting and job-costing knowledge
• Experience with project budgets, billing, draws, commitments and change orders
• Experience with construction or real-estate accounting systems preferred
• Ability to independently manage the financial side of multiple projects
