Accounting Clerk

Location: East Syracuse

Description We are looking for an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day financial operations for a growing team in East Syracuse, New York. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling both payables and receivables in a fast-paced environment. The person in this role will help maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, and contribute to efficient accounting workflows using tools such as Quick Books and Foundation Software.

Responsibilities:

- Manage incoming vendor invoices, review details for accuracy, and prepare payments in a timely manner.

- Record customer payments, track outstanding balances, and assist with routine accounts receivable follow-up.

- Enter financial and transactional data into accounting systems with a high level of accuracy and consistency.

- Maintain organized documentation for invoices, payments, and account activity to support internal recordkeeping.

- Use Quick Books and Foundation Software to update accounting information and monitor daily transactions.

- Reconcile account discrepancies by researching supporting records and resolving issues promptly.

- Assist with general clerical accounting tasks that help keep financial processes running smoothly. Requirements - Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in an office or accounting environment.

- Working knowledge of Quick Books for transaction entry, account tracking, and record maintenance.

- Strong data entry skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail.

- Background in invoice processing, including review, coding, and documentation.

- Familiarity with Foundation Software or the ability to learn new accounting platforms quickly.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines consistently.

- Clear communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented approach to daily work.
