Our client is a consumer products company. They seek a Tax Manager to join their Woodbury, NY office.
Responsibilities- Stay current with federal, state, and local tax legislation
- Research corporate, individual, and state tax issues
- Complete federal and state income tax returns, including related analysis and supporting documentation
- Audit federal and state income tax filings and other relevant tax submissions
- Plan and implement tax strategies to optimize client outcomes
- Coordinate with operating management on tax matters and with accounting staff on tax accounting issues
- Establish and maintain internal controls over income tax accounting
- Cultivate strong client relationships and identify opportunities to cross-sell services
- Lead, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and best practices
- Advise clients on business and process improvements and serve as a trusted business advisor
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- 5+ years of tax experience
- Experience with estate and gift returns tax
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks
- CPA required
