Senior Accountant​/Accounting Manager

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Senior Accountant/Accounting Manager to join their Woodbury, NY office.

• Direct and execute audit, review, and compilation engagements from planning through completion for a wide range of clients
• Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, and non-profit organizations
• Act as the main point of contact for clients, delivering exceptional service and building strong, trusted relationships
• Analyze financial statements, identify discrepancies, and recommend strategic solutions for clients
• Coordinate with managers and partners to ensure engagements are completed on time, within budget, and to the firm’s quality standards
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff accountants, reviewing their work for accuracy and providing constructive feedback
• Perform accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, month-end and year-end closing procedures, and account reconciliations
• Research complex accounting and tax issues, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of GAAP and relevant tax regulations
• Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and expanding the firm’s service offerings

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 4-7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting
• Exposure to Audit, review, compilation, and tax
• Proven experience managing multiple client engagements
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with accounting software such as CCH Prosystem, Ultra Tax, Case Ware, Quick Books, or similar platforms
• CPA preferred
