Accounting Manager

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek an Accounting Manager to join their Rockville Centre, NY office.

• Lead and manage audit engagements, reviews, and compilations in compliance with GAAS and GAAP
• Assess internal controls, identify risks, and evaluate management’s financial assertions
• Analyze financial statements for accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Contribute to the preparation and review of audit reports and supporting documentation
• Prepare and review individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns while advising on tax planning strategies
• Investigate complex tax issues and represent clients before the IRS or other tax authorities
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and stay current on regulatory changes
• Cultivate and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and service delivery
• Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff to support their growth and ensure high-quality work
• Promote a collaborative team environment while identifying opportunities for added client value

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or related field
• 5+ years of experience in public accounting
• Experience in both audit and tax services
• Experience preparing a variety of tax returns
• In depth knowledge of GAAP, GAAS and relevant tax laws and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• CPA license preferred
