Huntington, NY Work Week - Hybrid Salary $80,000 - $110,000 - Due to retirement our client, a broker known for professionalism and a pleasant work environment seeks an experienced bookkeeper with strong accounts payable/receivable experience.

• Oversee and administer all functions of complex $100 million premium payables/ receivables
• Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting functions
• Prepare applicable weekly/monthly/quarterly/ annual reports for management
• Provide management with information vital to the decision-making process
• Monitor and reconcile applicable GL and balance sheet accounts and activities
• Ensure proper transactional flow and accurate recording at the GL and P&L level
• Manage all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting
• Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements
• Overseeing the budget process
• Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement
• Evaluating accounting and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
• Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
• Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance

• Minimum 5 years of premium accounting experience
• Ability to hit the ground running
• Knowledge of Applied and accounting software.
