Pro Nexus is partnering with an established company in the construction industry to identify an experienced, detail-oriented
Accountant to oversee its day-to-day accounting functions and financial reporting activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys taking ownership of the accounting process, working closely with leadership, and making a meaningful impact within a smaller, collaborative organization.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in general accounting, financial reporting, job costing, and cash flow management, along with the ability to balance strategic financial responsibilities with hands-on accounting activities.

Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Work-in-Progress (WIP) and cash flow reporting.

Manage general ledger activities, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing processes.

Prepare journal entries, adjustments, and supporting financial schedules.

Analyze financial performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations to management.

Ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Reconcile and monitor intercompany transactions.

Construction & Project Accounting

Support project accounting activities, including job costing and WIP reporting.

Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project-related financial activity.

Monitor project costs and provide financial information to support operational decisions.

Assist management in evaluating financial performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management

Assist management in preparing annual budgets and quarterly financial forecasts.

Monitor actual results against budgets and investigate significant variances.

Prepare and maintain weekly cash flow reports.

Monitor accounts receivable, accounts payable, collections, and disbursements.

Provide financial analysis and insights to support business planning.

Compliance & Financial Controls

Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

Coordinate year-end financial documentation and support external accountants.

Prepare quarterly sales and use tax information.

Assist with tax audits and other financial reviews as needed.

Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls, reporting accuracy, and accounting processes.

Collaboration & Process Improvement

Work closely with senior management, project managers, and administrative personnel.

Provide guidance and support to accounting and administrative staff.

Recommend improvements to accounting procedures, reporting systems, and operational efficiencies.

Maintain organized financial records and documentation.

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience.

Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.

Experience with account reconciliations, month-end closing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Knowledge of job costing and project accounting principles.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
