Clerical Assistant Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of clerical functions on the nursing unit including, but not limited to:
• Meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to the floor.
• Answering questions from patients and/or family members or redirecting to the appropriate care team member.
• Transcribing orders; preparing patient chart on admission; ensuring the chart is maintained appropriately; dismantling chart upon discharge; preparing diet and census sheets; rewriting medex once a week; preparing venipuncture list; assisting in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
• Assisting the care team with the discharge process.
• Answering telephones in a professional manner; distributing mail.
• Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience in a doctor’s office or healthcare facility preferred.

Salary Range: USD $27.59 per hour.
