Clerical Assistant – Emergency Department

Clerical Assistant Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of clerical functions on the nursing unit including, but not limited to:
- Meeting, greeting, and orienting patients to the floor.
- Answering questions from patients and/or family members or redirecting to the appropriate care team member.
- Transcribing orders; preparing patient chart on admission; ensuring the chart is maintained appropriately; dismantling chart upon discharge; preparing diet and census sheets; rewriting medex once a week; preparing venipuncture list; assisting in coordinating and compiling statistics as needed.
- Assisting the care team with the discharge process.
- Answering telephones in a professional manner; distributing mail.
- Performing other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in a doctor’s office or healthcare facility preferred.
Salary Range: USD $27.59 per hour.
